This is a late 19th century made bass by August Gemunder in really great shape. I bought this bass as a project a while back, and the incredible luthier Ed Maday built a new beautiful removable neck with a scroll graft of the original scroll and took care of any old repairs. This thing has been completely restored and is ready for someone to be playing it. I'm selling this as I actually have commissioned a bass and have negative money and positive basses. I hope that someone can play the hell out of this. I did a recording on this bass last year and it really has an incredible huge pizz sound and a full throaty arco tone. With the right setup it could very easily be a really loud powerful jazz instrument, an orchestra instrument, or something that'd be a great hybrid. This bass was appraised at 25k, so I've listed it much lower in order to sell it swiftly. So if you're interested, let's talk! It's got Spirocores,a Full Circle Pickup, a New Harmony Endpin and sounds great!
