Geez, for $100, I'd get this if I was in your neck of the woods, just to have it as a spare.

AI will send you a replacement grill with self-tapping screws if you ask them. I did it with my original Contra and was very pleased with the results.

Hmmm...can the top panel be modified to hold a Clarus, or is that panel cast as one solid piece?

You can remove the top by unscrewing the handle.
But what's under the top is not really sexy.
There are two tall wood pillars (made of plywood pieces glued together) to get the handle screws.
All that area has no finish since the top will cover it.
