What does the mid switch do? Boost the mids? Can the installation be made without the switch? Thanks.

Mid(Selectable): 300, 500 , 800 Hz. The pot associated with the mids will boost or cut the selected frequency.

I don't know if you can install without the switch. I personally, would drill the appropriate diameter hole, or have a yeah handle it.
