For sale Linc Luthier 5 String

These basses are super RARE but his builds are right up there with the best builders - I looked for a 5-string Linc bass for almost 15 years! The bass neck is a soft V shape and feels great - the closest (but not the same) that I have played is a MTD 535 and I think that the balance is better! The construction is as good as on the MTD, my Fodera or my Ken Lawrence Brase. The gloss finish looks great and is not sticky - and I live in Florida! This bass is in pretty pristine condition - no noticeable scratches or dents. Comes with a case.

This bass is passive and the pickups and tone controls give you a great amount of control over the sound of the bass. Output from the bass is great - I have a couple of basses that use the Nordstrand electronics (dual coil J's on one and P/MM on the other. Even with the 3-band preamp, the level is about the same).

Linc was in charge of construction for major film studios and then became a professor with time to build as I was told. His construction is different than most - the label is inside the case and describes the bass better than I can.

You might be curious as to why I would sell this nice of a bass - I had too many and the amount of playing is decreasing. FWIW, I have sold pretty nice basses - MTD, Sadowsky 5/21, Roscoe, Fodera - and the Linc is right up there with them.
