For sale Fretless Ibanez Rickenbacker clone (project bass)

Please make sure you read this whole thing if you're interested, there's a lot going on and I don't want there to be any misunderstanding.

There's good bones to this bass, but it needs work. I've done what I could with it but it just isn't going to be giggable without more effort and I'm not willing to put it in. This is definitely a player's bass, I tried to document as many of the major nicks/bruises as I could. Where is the big work needed?

• I can't say for sure, but it looks to me like the fingerboard may have been removed and replaced with a fretless one. The side dots were installed via soldering iron and whoever did it doesn't seem to know anything about fretless basses.
• I messed with the action and can't get it to a reasonable spot, it's still high. Neck may need a shim? It's as low as you can get it without constant buzzing due to strings hitting the bridge pickup housing. Tried to capture this in the pics. This is the principal issue keeping me from playing it out.
• Neck pickup is intermittent. It's off kilter and I can't seem to get it to stay straight. When I toggle to the neck pickup or blend the signal will cut in/out. If you click to the bridge pickup it's rock solid. So I can't tell if this is because of the high action or a problem with the electronics.

If all of this sounds like something you can manage then you might have a diamond in the rough here. I'm open to taking offers, but I tried to price this below what the Ibanez Ric clones are going for (hard market to track). The key thing you understand is this thing needs real work, I'm trying to be as forthcoming as I can about that. Please ask questions before buying.
