I'll cover the 1st $50.00 shipping via Pirate Ship / UPS Ground. (which should cover most midwest and eastern States.)
Ships in generic molded new hardshell case, and will be expertly packed.
Weight is 9lb 13oz
as of 6/17/24 strung w/ROUNDS (Fender 7250s I believe - wow!)
"Playability" is excellent.
It's set up great with minimal relief and ~ 5/32 string height. Nut height is optimal.
The neck is one of my favorite playing Jazz necks, with a smooth / dent-free satin finish on the back.
Truss rod has full range, and it's rarely required adjustment.
Frets are level, crowned and show no discernible wear.
Really nice rosewood on this one too.
There is one minor dent on the side of the rosewood next to the 9th fret position marker. I've never felt it, nor does it affect playability.
The body is in very good shape for a 12 year old bass with a BLACK finish - which shows off every fingerprint and swirl mark!
It has a few dings which I've tried to show as well as I can in photos below. There are 2 additional small indentations in the middle of the back that are impossible to photograph.
At one time, this bass had a standard Fender bridge with a Precision bridge cover / ash tray mounted over it. The cover screw holes have been filled (see photo).
Every one of these I tried had notoriously bad controls; it seems like the pickups were either "on" or "off" - with no range in-between.
I replaced the harness with CTS 250K Linear-taper volume pots, which provide much smoother blending options, (and an CTS 250k audio-taper tone pot)
The pickups are stock.
I tried various combination of Pickups in this bass; Bill Lawrence, Seymour Duncans, and even a Custom Shop. At the end of the day, none of them sounded better than the stock pickups that I believe were designed for this bass, and I was happily surprised when I put the stock pickups back in.
I went to great lengths to acquire what I think is one of the nicest modern tort guards I've seen.
(which is a story all by itself, that I'll be happy to bore the buyer with)
The original black pickguard is included, along with a 2nd black pickguard that is notched for truss rod access, as I had a Tony Franklin fretless neck on at one time.
Speaking of which, the Tony Franklin PJ is what got me interested in trying the dual-P blacktop Jazz - and the dual P is a great alternative to the PJ.
At the end of the day, I'm just a traditional P or J player, and this one just isn't getting played.
This bass is a prime example of a model that was produced for only a few years; 20212-2014.
