This is a great electric upright bass made by the late luthier Jose Dolores Rivera. He specialized in making electric upright basses in the style of the Ampeg Baby Bass, which you can see some elements of in this build.
This specific bass features a pickup made by renowned maker Carlos Guzman. When I received the instrument I had a high quality ebony fingerboard put on this bass as the previous one was severely warped beyond repair. This bass did not come with a case but I managed to work this bass into a snowboard bag that works great.
This is a great instrument for someone looking for an outdoor option. While frankly there isn’t much to it, that makes this bass a great opportunity for someone to have a small instrument for practice at home, or for tight spaces in a gigging environment. The pickup sounds excellent for many different genres.
