I really love this bass, and especially the tone. However, recently I have had to come to terms with the realization that with my advancing age ( I am now in my 68th year on the planet), I must be more realistic about the physical limitations that state of affairs is starting to impose on me. The fact is, I am just not able to wield a six string Dingwall bass of the long scale ilk any longer for gigs. I am currently in physical therapy for a right shoulder impingement that I don't believe was the result of playing this bass, but has made playing it for any significant stretch of time very difficult.

So, I am sadly resigned to parting with this bass in favor of one with less length and less strings. I cannot find a single ding or cosmetic imperfection anywhere on this bass. I haven't had to once adjust the neck or the action. It is perfect in my opinion. It plays wonderfully and the tone is exactly what I love about playing a Dingwall. My personal scale says this is right at about 10 pounds, which seems right for a six string version of this bass,

$2000 (or best offer) includes shipping within the CONUSA with insurance. It will also include the original Dingwall gig bag, along with two new sets of Dingwall strings, one each of the Steels and the Nickels.

Oh, I am still in the fold. But I need to make things a little easier on myself these days! I've had 4 surgeries in the past 5 months, and still have some kidney stones to blast. So I'm trying to be a bit more realistic. Getting old sucks!! :rollno::help::laugh:

Gawd. Can’t like that post. Only partial like. lol.

Workin on myself daily these days to ensure as much longevity as possible to lug the 10 lb beasts.
If I can keep grinding til 68 I’ll be pretty happy about that.

Good job Bob!

Sorry to hear about your condition, Bob. I know how you feel about parting with a favorite bass. I’ve had to do it more than once for financial reasons. Keep fighting my friend. I’m still fighting and playing about twice a week at age 76+, but I’ve had to part with some of my heavier basses.
Someone is going to get a beauty. GLWTS!

I need to lose at least 35 lbs to prolong my playing career and my life!
