Classic Sunn bass stack, built in Portland, Oregon. Fantastic tone and loud as stink if you want it. The 2000S head was built in 1969, sounds great and is in excellent cosmetic condition. It was last serviced about 3 years ago at Amp Lab in Campbell, CA. The power tubes were replaced with 4 new TungSol 6550s and the transformer was rewired for 4 and 8 ohm outputs, rather than the stock 8 and (less useful) 16 ohms. This is straightforward, since the native transformer was built with taps for all 3 impedance values. A robust 3-prong power cable was installed. The amp is conservatively rated at 120W, but a true maximum up to 200W is cited; this makes sense given the tube complement. Amp dimensions are 10.3”H x 30”W x 9.5”D and weight is 56 lbs. The cabinet is the matching 2000S model, which has larger dimensions than later Sunn 215s (without casters, 46”H x 30”W x 15”D, 151 lbs.). It is designed with a reverse-tapered ducted port and carries matching 16 ohm JBL K140s for an overall impedance of 8 ohms. The cab is built like a tank and is in very good cosmetic condition, with the tolex repaired in several areas over the years. The amp head comes with a custom Tuki padded cover. I will include a Divine Noise speaker cable (also made in Portland). Due to its weight, this is a ‘local pickup only’ sale. I am willing to drive the rig in a 2 hour radius, as far as the SF Bay Area north or SLO south. Sorry, no trade interests.
