Up for sale is my June of 1980 Rickenbacker 4080/6. This is the 4-string bass and 6-string guitar version in JetGlo finish with black pickguards and truss rod covers.
Overall condition is good for its age with some scratches and dings. There are a series of small dings on the upper bout just above the neck pickup on the bass side. They aren't easy to spot unless you look at the right angle. There are also some small dings on the lower edge of the bass. These dings don't really stand out at all. There is also a small crack in the pickguard for the bass side neck pickup. Seems like the typical over tightening of the neck pickup screw when adjusting its height.
The bass and guitar necks play great and sound like a Rickenbacker.
I just installed Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 10-46 strings on the guitar. I've never changed the bass strings, but they seem to be Rotosounds, but the G string was replaced with another brand.
Comes with the original hard shell case.
Asking $15,500 USD and would prefer an in-person transaction. I live in the San Diego area, but am willing to drive a bit for a serious buyer. I have, however, shipped a 4080 before and will do so at the buyer's expense.
I'm not looking for trades for trades for this one.
