This is the 7th bass I built and has been one of my personal basses for several years. Shows slight blems, but still looks great.
Here are the specifications:
General
Neckthrough design; double cutaway body
35” scale
5 string; 1.75” at the nut; 18mm/.708 string spacing at the bridge
The finish is a two-part catalyzed clear urethane.
Body
Center core is Swamp Ash with a Bokote inlay at the neck joint
The body “wings” are Sapele
The thin layer between the body and the top is Makore
Finally, the top is bookmatched Mango showing colors of black, gray, brown, green, red, orange, and golden yellow.
The headstock is capped with a matching thin layer of Mango.
Neck
The neck is a 7 piece lamination utilizing a two-part catalyzed epoxy
Inside, there is a dual action trussrod and two each 3/16”x1/4”x24” graphite rods
The outer parts are quarter sawn rock maple
The thin veneer strips are of the same maple stock
The next thicker strips are walnut
The center core of the neck is Chechen
Finally, the fretboard is Bokote with 24 frets
Electronics and hardware
Preamp: 18 volt Mike Pope “Flexcore2”
Controls (looking down from player’s view) –
the left/upper is stacked bass/treble
the bottom is master volume push/pull, active/passive preamp
next row is balance (pickup blend)
high midrange
low midrange
the two switches are midrange boost/cut and signal output on/off
Pickups: Aguilar DCB (dual ceramic bar) pickups
Bridge: Hipshot polished solid brass “A-style”
Tuners: Gotoh tuners
Nut: Graphtech TUSQ XL
