I had this up for trade, but it’s now for sale, with just one of the power supplies and one of the cases.
Here’s a bass you don’t see every day - an all-original 1979 USA Alembic Series 1 bass.
This is a *killer* vintage instrument, and gets mentioned all the time as the gold standard for basses.
Full scale (34”). Weighs a very manageable (and light for the model) 11 lbs.
All original, with very few flaws. The prior owner added a thumb rest that I removed, leaving two small holes. That’s the worst sin. Other than that, there’s a few bumps and dings, and lots of sexy finish checking. Nice flame/quilt maple top, too..
It’s a working bass that got played a lot, and for good reason!
I’ll throw in the following:
- One extra Drop D tuner that is vintage (I think) and perfectly matches the current tuners
- Pedalboard-sized Alembic “blue box” DS-5 power supply
- A 5-pin cable you’ll need to connect to the power supply. (You can run the bridge pickup off two 9-volts but if you want to run both pickups you need the power supply.)
As for a case, you can have *either* of the following:
-Newer (and slightly oversized) tolex case that appears to be made for the Series 1.
-An older but very functional pink Anvil road case made specifically for a Series 1.
I’m asking $6800 plus actual shipping. Shipping might vary depending on which case you select - the tolex case is a bit oversized but lighter, the Anvil offers amazing protecting but is heavier.
Please PM me with questions and offers. I’ve got a stupidly busy day job, so please be patient and I will get back to you.
