RCO Pedals - Pepperbox - Volt Thrower clone

Here's another great clone from RCO Pedals, the Pepperbox aka Volt Thrower aka Rat. Has some Velcro on the bottom, it has a 308 chip in it. I have a 125B VT and I'll be keeping that since I enjoy the added mids knob.

Price: $75 shipped to the CONUS via PayPal

Have you been able to compare it to an actual Volt Thrower? Curious how close they are.

No - I don't have my original VT any longer and it's been years since I have. It's very different from the 125VT version but that technically was different from the original VT too, due to the added mids control.

Definitely sounds like a rat though!

Any internal pics? I'm wondering about the internal trims. I have an RCO Volt Thrower already, but this is still tempting for a second tone! He makes great stuff!

Ever mess with those trim pots? There's another style I prefer, but this is rather tempting. I don't want to leave you hanging - I'll pass for now. I've already got 2 of these, and my main reason for wanting one was that this one was made after he started labeling the knobs! The aesthetics are great, but I should probably keep my cash in that case. Still - incredibly tempting! If anything I have listed locally sells...

I haven't but I'm not the original owner, so they might have been adjusted in the past.

I believe noon is the standard setting. But I like to increase the bass to nearly max and the other to 10:00ish. They appear to be some sort of crossover/blend sort of thing - but CW is cleaner unlike most others. Those settings keep the bass from distorting too much, but give the high end a good deal of dirt. It's great stuff! Perhaps that info may help you if you are still wanting to mess with this one.
