The Brothers & Sisters of Low End
Here is something very rare. Maybe one of one?
Late 80s Warwick Dolphin Pro I in glossy dark purple (see below for exact color name).
I am not worthy of this beautiful purple monster. I don't play professionally and this guitar should be played on sessions and producing great music.
I do have my Warwick Thumb, so I am covered anyways.
Per Warwick factory, the history is that there were Promo basses made for Bass Central in Los Angeles.
They were being rented from Bass Central for sessions for high end customers to promote brand.
This bass is in great shape for its age.
Some lacquer went off from the edges of neck, but the playability is intact.
There is big Warwick logo & Promo bass (PPOMO - I guess they made spelling mistake at factory) on the back which is painted UNDER the transparent top coat.
The case is original but saw more traffic than LAX, so it can be used for shipping, but I would not rely on it for convenient transportation. Its also built to survive nuclear strike.
For those interested I am happy to record / send more photos / provide more info.
If my reverb / bay handle needed - happy to do that as well.
I am based in Bay Area, but I could potentially do drive all the way down to SoCal on one of the weekends / extended weekends, after some deposit would be paid.
If shipped - I would only accept insured options as this is too much of guitar just to trust UPS / USPS / Fedex guys to throw it. Open to discuss shipping with buyer.
