Have an opportunity to move and am raising funds for the new digs. Hate to see these customs go but, such is life.

These all look pretty sweet -- variations on a theme.

I can sort-of imagine how the sound might vary with the different pickup configurations (foremost) and fingerboard/body woods (secondarily), but it'd be interesting to hear your take.

I didn't know, 'til now, that Gould offered something like these (graphite/wood necked) hybrids. Pretty neat!

been a tone-chaser for decades and like experimenting with different electronics with various body/neck combos. but, now that i'm basically retired, decided to go with the gear i can't live without and offer up to the public the rest of the stable. :)

I hear you -- I guess I was thinking more of subjective differences between the basses (I'm least familiar with the Sweet Spot Turbo pickup placement, for instance -- and then there's the different woods), but that might be opening a can of worms. ;)

All lovely instruments, in any case.

Same here. I've been researching these basses a lot and love their design. I couldn't find much information on the hybrid construction but eventually did find a cross section figure. Looks to be three graphite/epoxy laminates that surround the truss rod (kind of like a Stonehenge pattern) that runs the entire length of the neck (I think). Very cool indeed and not just a wood neck with graphite stiffening rods. I'd be curious to hear how these sound compared to the all graphite neck, but that's not what this thread is for. To the original poster, good luck with the sale and I can totally relate with your current gear situation.

if you're interested in a bit more "traditional" tone, the maple neck will suffice. the graphite neck reinforcement is a definite plus. i have a few goulds with the original 'hybrid' maple necks when geoff started his namesake company back in the late 90's. the neck carve fits me perfect.
