I literally bought one just like this a week ago (from a dealer for considerably more money). I own two now, a CRT and a LPB. One will live with rounds, the other with flats. These are low-key one of the best basses Fender ever made for real-life gigging situations.

Yea, it’s amazing, by definition. I usually avoid active basses because I like a 1-trick simple control bass, this one behaves like an active with all the variety, but it’s so easy to dial in. I’m playing it and it’s like, ooh that sounds good, then do something else like split one or the other pup - ooh that sounds good, and on and on. It does all types of J sound super easy - I’ll probly do some comparison with it and my P basses today. Super fun, and may end up pulling this ad.

I didn’t even know they came in the color AND with a matching headstock (!) AWESOME
I’m a sucker for matching headstock! I even consider natural bodies and heads matching haha

It's never going to sound like a P because of where the pickups are. But the neck pickup in either parallel or series humbucking is a whole sonic world unto itself. Huge, wide-open piano-like tones. And the bridge pickup in series is genius because it's like it has a built-in low-mid boost and top-end rolloff, which is normally something the J bridge is lacking.

Yea, you're validating what I'm seeing - you're right, its not in the P sweet spot. You're also right about everything else; such a fantastic bass. On top of the sound, it sets up and plays perfectly. I see why people say the low F feels far away, it does because the body is small, but I don't have a problem with that at all. And I'm right that I shouldn't sell it :(

Get it while she's hot, boys and girls.

Ladies and gentlemen, I need to pull this one. Came to my senses, I would end up chasing another, and I'm not going to do that. Good luck with your journeys.
