Selling my 1996 Ken Smith BMT 6 String 7/7 with Rare BMT Features…Pointed Bottom and switches. While Ken Smith BMT models are a rarity in themselves with the 7 piece neck / 7 piece body, this one would have been produced towards the end of the BMT model run with the features of the pointed bottom and the series/parallel switches as usually most of the earlier BMT’s were produced with the rounded bottom, and no switches. Great condition for a 30 year-old bass, with no excessive finish wear and only a few handling marks which are to be expected. Plays amazing with a very low action. Includes Gator hard case.

Does BMT stand for Bass Middle Treble and the switches refer to midrange frequencies?

BMT is actually the model name which was only made for a few years and only about 100 total made, but yes, also it does stand for bass, mid and treble because up until these were made, there were only the BT models which were only bass abd treble. The swiches are for series/parallel for each pickup. Only a few of the last made BMT models had these switches (and the point on the bottom of the body) before Ken dropped the BMT body style and switched to the BSR models.
