For sale Rare 1988 Rickenbacker 4001 V63

Up for grabs is my cherished 1988 Rickenbacker 4001 V63 in Maple Glo finish. It’s in very good condition, some finish checking here and there, and imprints of some stickers a former owner had placed which had been removed before I purchased. These 80’s versions of the V63 don’t pop up often, released in 1984 this is a 4th year model, the necks on these are super slim, almost the feel of a Jazz bass without the girth. This is the slimmest neck of any Rickenbacker I’ve ever owned. Both truss rods work perfectly for a straight neck and low action all the way up. A previous owned had removed the choke cap from the rear pickup, it’s now full range and very LOUD. I removed the rear horse shoes, as a finger player they got in my way but will be shipped with the bass if someone wishes to reinstall them. If you’re a finger player I probably did you a favor. The original string mute is intact and functional but slightly worn, I purchased a new one but never got around to installing it, will be included with the sale. A couple of the string saddle slots have been filed a little to help with string to string height. All in all an amazing playing and sounding V63 priced to sell as these are long discontinued especially an 80’s model.
