So this bass might not be for everyone. But for anyone looking for a 32" scale 5 string with an AMAZING B string, 16.5 string spacing, and 7 lb 13 oz, this is an excellent choice. This is the import model but MTD offers the option to replace the stock tuners, preamp, and pickups with USA Hipshot Ultralights, and Bart USA pickups and pre. The bridge was upgrade by the previous owner to a USA Hipshot. All the mods and set up were done by MTD in New York. Preamp is Vol, Passive tone control, Blend, Bass, Mid, Treble, and an active/passive switch.
I had kind of a surge of interest in medium scale basses after thinking I needed to " downsize" due to some hand issues. I don't play 5 that much and have fallen in love with my G&L JB5. So this bass is just sitting.
If you're so inclined you could even string it E-C. It has the MTD asymmetrical neck. I can't tell you how shocked I was by the B string. I've had a bunch of 5 strings over the years and I have to say this may be the best B string of any of them even my current JB5 ( which is still pretty good ).
It will ship in a hard gig bag that I think was meant for a headless 34" scale bass so it fits perfectly.
