Absolutely lovely! This thing is studio quality, pristine tones, high functionality, and versatility. Frankly, I'm not sure how I will live without it, but a few new things have come up that I am going to try.
For sale is my Trickfish Trilobite bass preamp pedal.
This is a serious piece of gear and, in the right setup, an extremely powerful front end for a bass rig. The Trilobite gives you two channels of Trickfish’s Bullhead-style preamp, each with its own gain and EQ section, plus master volume, mute, tuner out, amp out, dual DI outputs, a series insert loop, and a parallel effects loop with side-chain dry blend. It is much more than a simple EQ or tone-shaping pedal. It can function as the center of a pedalboard-based bass rig.
Functionality is perfect. It has been on and off different boards quite a bit, so it does have mild bumps, some scratches on the bottom, and Velcro attached. Please see the pictures for the condition.
The EQ is musical and useful, especially if you use more than one bass or want two distinct tones available from the same board. The A/B channel setup is excellent for switching between instruments or setting up two different foundational tones.
The parallel effects loop is also a major feature. It allows you to run effects while keeping a dry bass signal present, which can be especially useful with modulation, delay, ambiance, or effects that tend to thin out the low end. The DI section is another strong point, with both pre/post and post-EQ output options, making it practical for live, studio, or direct-use setups.
This would be a great fit for someone building a high-quality pedalboard bass rig, running into a power amp, effects return, powered speaker, recording interface, or front-of-house system. It would also work well for a player who switches between multiple basses and wants independent EQ/gain voices in one unit.
