I'm selling my absolutely gorgeous Nick Lloyd double bass that I commissioned in 2019. This instrument has a deep sub-woofer like bottom end and a singing upper register that makes it the absolute perfect audition instrument that can also hold it's own in a section or a chamber setting. I have recorded extensively with this instrument and it has been played in many bass sections including The San Diego Symphony, The Los Angeles Philharmonic, The Philadelphia Orchestra, and at my job with the Oregon Symphony. Nick's basses are played by bassists such as Paul Kowert, Tim Cobb, Alex Hannah, and Andres Martin to name a few. These instruments are played by many of the very best and are highly sought after for good reason! This instrument has Baroque styled F Holes and has a walnut flat back and sides and a beautiful spruce top.
The Specs are listed down below:
7/8 Gamba corner
May 2019
41.75″ string length
Spruce top
Walnut flatback and sides
Chromatic c-extension
It pains me to part ways with this instrument but I simply have too many basses at home right now. I would love to sell this on talkbass so that we can all save some money by skipping consignment fees. This instrument is currently located in Portland, Oregon but I frequently travel to Los Angeles where we could arrange a trial.
Feel free to reach out with any questions and I'll be happy to answer them!
