I just replaced the stock Fender pickups in my brand new USA Jazz bass. I got a set of Nordstrand NJ4SVs (the humbuckers). I have to say, when I bought the bass, I almost kept the original pickups because they really sounded pretty good. I have fralins in my Precision and I love them too, so I've grown to be sort of pickup snob. I like the new pups, but I have a little bit of buyer's remorse about it. They sound great, but I'm not sure they sound THAT MUCH better than the stock ones. I like the low noise with the humbuckers so I'll keep them.
The point is, my remorse is your gain. I'd like to sell the stock pups. If you have a project bass or a MIM you're trying to upgrade, these would be a great option.
