Details

1998 Fender American Deluxe Jazz Bass - asking $975 (USD).

Original (rare) John Suhr preamp and pickups (only appeared on the Deluxe basses in 1998 and 1999). In very good condition with a few dings and light playing wear around the pickups.

Neck has a custom epoxy finish by HG Thor Guitar Works (NY, USA) which was done in 2003. This treatment gives a glass-like finish on the fretboard and creates a Jaco-like singing tone. More information about this process here: http://www.woodwiz.com/guitarlab/epoxy.html To have this finish applied today would cost $245 USD. There are surface scratches on the epoxy from roundwounds, but this thing is pretty indestructable.

Also included is a Fender Vintage Tweed hardshell case.

If you want additional photos, let me know. You can see the ding on the forearm contour, above the bridge in the 4th photo.

I love that Jazz. I have a Red see thru (can't remember the exact name of the color) 98 Jazz fretted. They are some fantastic basses. Whoever buys this thing will be getting a wonderful bass! And that epoxy job looks beautiful. It's like a mirror sheen!!!

I have pretty much the same bass and I love it. Really nails the Jaco tone with alot of bias to the bridge pickup.

Bump for Harris Thor's work.

This guy has a multi-year waiting period to get his epoxy service - I know because I waited and had my Carvin LB70PF board epoxied and it was worth the wait.

Would you consider selling just the neck?

Hi, it's a Deluxe Jazz bass neck so it's longer than the standard jazz bass neck (22 fret positions instead of 20?) - and I'd rather sell it as an entire bass.

Cheers
