I have been wanting to switch the gold hardware on my Spector Euro LX 4 to black hardware. I have the 2+2 set of gold Schaller M4 Mini tuning machines (kinda' hard to find) and the gold factory Spector bridge. All of this hardware is from the factory. If anyone has the black versions of this hardware and wants to go gold, let me know. :)

If someone has just the tuners or just the bridge, I would be interested in trading or buying them.

Well, the tuners that I need are Schallers. Here are the ones that came on my Spector:

This is the bridge that came factory on my Spector:

I am now willing to sell these parts, as well as trade them. $100 gets you all four tuning machines and the bridge. :)

I just realized, you might want to know that the Spector gold bridge like you have is made of brass, while the black bridges are aluminum. Not a bad thing in and of itself, but it will sound different.

Anyway, you have PM regarding the bridge if your other deal doesn't work out. I just like the design of these bridges and don't really care if it's brass or aluminum.

PJ from Spector replied to my e-mail already but i had to sent him some pics in order for him to give me a better answer to my/our questions regarding the fit on these bridges. As of right now i'm just waiting on his reply on the last e-mail.I'll let you know as soon as possible.

I emailed spector about the buying a black bridge, apparently they sell for $80.

Another option you may want to consider, especially if you don't want to change to aluminum due to any sonic differences, is to have the brass parts coated with a black oxide finish. Look in your phone book for a metal coating or plating shop or even online: http://www.blackoxideservice.com/.

I'm also interested in changing the gold looking hardware from a spector (which I'm buying today) to black, and this is probably the route I'll go with on the bridge, and then I'll just buy some new black tuners and knobs from warmoth.

Ok here's the deal..........got the reply from PJ @ Spector and he told me the fit on both bridges is not the same.Your is bigger in shape and string spacing so we won't be able to do a trade. However i would recommend that you try with someone who has a Rebop, bridges look quite similar so they might be the same fit.Or try the option posted above.
Thanks and good luck.

No problem, DG. I've got a bit of a change in plans. PJ at Spector sent me a brand new, black, aluminum Spector bridge for my Euro. I have it now. So, now I have a gold/brass Spector Euro/Rebop bridge that will collect dust unless someone wants to: a.) Buy it for $70 and I'll cover the shipping. b.) Buy the bridge and the tuners for $100 and I'll cover the shipping. c.) Trade me just your Schaller tuners (identical to mine, but in black) for my tuners AND bridge--very good deal for you guys. Or d.) You can make me some other kind of trade offer that is not related to Spector/Schaller parts for my bass. Hope that wasn't too confusing. :)

The tuners are now ON HOLD for a fellow TBer. The bridge is still available, however, and I've lowered the price to $63. I'll cover the shipping. US shipping only.
