Got this on trade from my bud DCR, but I REALLY need cash right now so I'm unloading her. Folks, this bass has a tighter B than anything I've tried including my F-Bass BN5 (no lie)! $750. Here is some info:

Aero pick-ups, passive, Gotoh tuners and bridge. 18 mm spacing. Built in 2000 by FBB Custom Bass Works www.fbbcustom.com. More details on Matt's web site see bass # 030 in the Gallery.

I've owned two FBB's and they are absolutely great. This man is not exagerating about the B string. Someone buy this!

She will be mine again someday but not today :bawl:

I had this bass for a while and have to give it the 2 biggest thumbs up I can give. I would expect this bass to go for $1500-$2000 easy due to the craftsmanship, sound and feel. Matt's work is the best bang for a buck you can get. When I got my Bee Bass I tried to keep them both but alas finances (i.e. 3 kids) made me sell 1 and she had to go...............

Just get her and you will see, she's a giver, she loves the attention and will cuddle afterwards!!!!!!!!!

This bass is the nicest 5 string I have ever played. I used it routinely on gigs for just about a year before selling it and I deeply miss the tone and quality of this axe. The sole and only reason I sold it was due to the compact body size .... I'm a big guy and I need to play a big beefy body. I also prefer 19mm spacing on 5's (this one is 18mm), but that wasn't a big issue at all. Other than that the bass is perfect :hyper:

This bass is very typical of the level of quality coming from FBB. If anyone needs more info on FBB or this particular bass, just PM me and I'll be glad to answer any questions you might have. All of the pics and links here are from my web site

This is a truely great bass at a VERY low price ....

FYI, I was speaking to my local luthier yesterday (Phil Jacobi formally of Paul Reed Smith and Master Musicians) and he said that FBB's were some of the finest basses he's seen craftmanship-wise. He said he would put their build quality up against anybody's. That says a LOT coming from Phil as he is VERY critical of build quality and craftmanship!

L.A., as in Lower Arkansas!
Which webpage?

AFAIK, I was the last person to sell it, and I sold it to Quad.

Since he's the current owner and is bumping this thread, I'd guess that it isn't sold yet.

The webpage has said this bass is SOLD! for a few days now, yet the thread is still getting bumped up. Would you please clarify?
Thanks.
Peace.

That was from Ed's webpage back in 2006. I bought it from him and that is why it says sold.

Someone buy this now, if I spend anymore money on gear my wife may leave me :rollno:

i also have owned this bass. i gigged it about 4 times. the sound is awesome. plays great but i've got fairly small hands so the neck profile was just something i couldn't get totally comfortable with. (i'm a 4 string jazz neck kinda guy) nice tight b string. and it sounds good with a band as well as solo. (my band plays quite a variety of stuff, the versatillity yet simplicity of this bass worked great for what i do, funk, rock country, slap or fingerstyle.)

btw i left black dunlop strap-lock buttons on the bass when i sold it. the originals are chrome schaller-type strap lock buttons that i actually still have somewhere. whoever buys this shoot me a pm if you want them, and i'll see if i can't dig them up and send them to you. (no charge)
