TRADED!

This is a gorgeous Elrick Platinum Classic Hybrid 5 (Set Neck), handmade by Rob Elrick in Chicago, Illinois. This one has the an upgrade Burled Buckeye top, upgrade Macassar striped Ebony board, and upgrade Bartolini passive soapbar pickups. According to Elrick: the Hybrid model perfectly bridges the gap between thru-neck and bolt-on. Features include set neck construction with bookmatched exotic wood top and carved neck heel. The feel of a thru-neck with many qualities of a bolt-on. Current Retail Price on a Hybrid 5 with these options would run $4700. So the inevitable question: why am I selling this work of art? Because as much as I want to love it, 19mm spacing w/35" scale just doesn't work for me. This was my first opportunity to try a "real" Elrick, so I jumped at the chance. But if I ever stumble across a 34" Scale, 18mm spaced Elrick, I'm jumping on it!!!

Specs:
Body: Swamp Ash "wings", walnut/purpleheart centerblock, bookmatched Burled Buckeye Top
Neck: Hybrid Set Neck quartersawn hard maple with graphite stiffening rods
Fingerboard: Macassar striped Ebony (very light color)
Scale: 35"
Frets: 24 with zero fret
Pickups: Custom Bartolini Soapbars (passive)
Preamp: 9V Bartolini NTMB
Controls: Volume, Blend, Treble, Mid, Bass, Midrange Frequency Selector Switch, Active/Passive switch
Hardware: Hipshot A-style bridge, Hipshot Ultralite Tuning Keys
String Spacing at Bridge: 3/4" (19mm)
Width at Zero Fret: 1 7/8"
Weight: 8.4 lbs
Strings: New DR Hi-Beams 45-125
Case: Gator Soft/Hard Case

This bass is in excellent condition, but it has been played/gigged with and there is corresponding "player wear". There are lots of little pinhead size nicks here and there (mostly on the body edges). Light "worming"/buckle wear on the back, but no gashes (not visible face-on, you have to tilt the bass in to the light to see it). Light nicks on the finish of the edges of a few of the black tuning keys. All of this wear is only visible when you put your face a foot away from the bass. The neck is near perfect with no wear and the frets have just tiny scratches; no grooves or flat spots. One knob cap popped off, but it'll cost you less than $5 to replace the knob (I'll call Elrick and see if they'll kick down a freebie).

Selling for $2000 shipped in the continental US (AK & HI are extra). International sales are fine, PM me for a shipping quote. PayPal is preferred. Always open to trades, but must be 34" scale, less than 19mm spacing.

Beautiful bass! BTW, you've got a Hipshot A bridge on there- you can adjust the string spacing in to 18mm (that's how I keep my Elricks). Can't really change the 35" scale though :D

Thanks Bryan...means a lot coming from the "TB Elrick expert". :)

I know I can dial it down, but the neck is still a bit too wide for me. Combine that with the 35" scale and my midget fingers and you have a recipe for severe cramping.

All Hipshot A bridges have 0.0680 side to side adjustment at each saddle.
A 19mm 5 string bridge will only go as near as

All Hipshot A bridges have 0.068" sideways adjustment at each saddle.
Therefore a 19mm 5 string bridge will let you go down to 18.56, at the most.
On the bright side, you can install a 18mm bridge without having to drill new holes on your bass.
But you're damn right about the scale Bryan :D
