Hello,
I know this is crazy, but I have to sell this beautiful '66 Fender Jazz Bass.
Click on the pic for more of them (you can zoom them in/out)
This one is one of the rare "transition" pre CBS/CBS. Bindings, blocks, Rosewood fb, Olympic White, Tort PG.
Everything's original aside the BadAss bridge and the color.
It use to be Sunburst, but some "wise" smart guy had the body routed between the bridge pickup and the bridge for who knows what! (you can see it on the left side of the G string in this pic. It's difficult to see, tho).
Not sure about the weight, but it's pretty light. I guess 8,5-9lbs
In 2001 it was repaired and repainted in Nitro Olympic White, by Chris Clem (famous for his vintage repair work).
The back of the neck is well worn out, but it is in super great working condition.
Frets are in very good shape and the truss rod works like a charm!
One thing that always concern me in a vintage (old) instrument it's the neck. This is as good as it gets, guaranteed!
The pickups, the pots, the capacitor, the control plate, the tuners, the tort PG and neck pickup's bell cover are original.
The bridge is the usual upgraded BadAss (it's missing the original, tho).
It was first owned by Phil Chen!!! Then, after the guy that did the mod, it has been in the hands of Tom Jones's bassplayer... Quite of an history behind this bass!
I don't have the original hard case. If the buyer wants I can provide an OEM fender one.
This bass is THE real deal, it sounds as good as it looks.
I'm shooting for $4500 (shipped)
(contact me for any questions and request)
Mo'
PS: No trades, sorry. I'm collecting $$. Family matters.
