I'm thinking $1200 if I could get it.
I have had this bass since I was a in my early twenties. My dad bought it for me as I was going to start a band. I think it is a '75 as I look at the serial number. I really regret selling this, but I think it wouldn't mind a new home. Back in the day I took off all the fancy white paint and carved a rose into the body. Some kind of possession of mine I guess. Also traded out the fender pickups for some hot new thing. Put on a Bass Ass bridge. You probably know the pickup better than I do. At any rate the neck is a beauty. Just had the whole thing gone through cleaning and rewiring the pickups and whatnot. Pretty new strings, although you got your own ideas on that. I have just a cloth fender case for it. Never did get a fancy case for it. Back in the day.

Dave88 thinks it could be from a Precision. Don't know, although I had a precision neck on it at one time. Anyway here are some under the neck photos:

Yeah - that's weird. Those 4 hole pics of the neck look original, the extra hole is for the "micro-adjust neck pat. 3550946" screw I assume. It also has the big 70's style letters they used until they switched to the smaller ones in mid '75 as on the reissue models.

The pickguard screw pattern is earlier, and the finger rest holes are below the G string. Looks like late '73 to me.

but the serial number screws with my head. Like I said earlier, I did have a precision fretless that I traded necks on the precision for a bit. Maybe I got the wrong damn plate back on it. This was in my "early mind bending age". Pre-DISCO!. God!

It's the same with my 73 P bass which I bought new. When CBS took over there were a lot of old 60s neck plates and hardware still kicking around in the Fender Factory including some 60s necks. It was pot luck if you got a 3 or 4 bolt neck, if you were really lucky you got an early 70s or late 60s neck as well.

Info as told to me in the early 80s by Fender.

It was a mess when Fender sold. I think I got lucky.
