OK folks, this is killing me to part with these two basses, but I need to raise some cash to pay for my Sadowsky Metro purchase.
1. Lakland Skyline Bob Glaub in Candy Apple Red - rosewood fretboard, Ash body, mint PG, 34" scale, 1.75" nut (P-neck), Lakland pickups, passive tone control, original Lakland hardshell case. According to my bathroom scale - 8 lbs! I am the original owner of this gem - purchased new in summer of 2003. It is at least a 9/10. There are only 2 things that distinguish this bass from new - slight swirling on the pickguard (what bass doesn't have this?), and a slight dulling of the finish in a few spots along the top edge of the neck in a few spots (see photos.) This is currently strung with D'addario XL Chromes and has no issues whatsoever. It plays like a dream, has the classic P-bass vibe with a just a hint of more modern edge. Lakland USA 55-94 Deluxe in Tobacco (or 3-Tone) Sunburst over beautiful Quilted Maple top - East Indian Rosewood with Birdseye Maple Dots, Swamp Ash body, 35" scale, 1.8" nut, Bartolini pickups, G&G tweed hardshell case. Serial number is 6088. According to my bathroom scale - between 9 and 9.5 lbs! I bought this in August of 2004, and have taken very good care of this gem. It is at least an 8.5/10. The slight imperfections I'm about to list were all there when I purchased her, but I want to be as up front as possible. On the 8th fret there is a small indentation about 1/2 of an inch long. The 10th fret also has a small ding, but neither of these affects playability. There are 2 small nicks (1 - 2mm) in the top horn (see photos - I had to take about 8 shots with different lighting to get the nicks to even show up.) And there's one more tiny nick in the top edge of the body where your arm rests - again, I had to really work to get it to show up in the pictures. (In fact, photos 11 and 12 are the same area, just with different lighting, so you can see how this little nick tends to disappear.) Currently strung with brand new Lakland Nickels.
