***SOLD!***
(Note: This is a relist of the same bass from earlier this week, at a lower price, and FS only)
Price: $650 OBO Shipped
Unfortunately, my primary bass, my much-loved MIM/Warmoth Jazz, was stolen after a gig last week, so my 1996 Warwick Corvette is up for sale in order to pay for a replacement.
Since I'd gotten used to the wider string spacing and thicker neck on the Jazz, and the Warwick has been collecting dust, I figured it's time to let the Warwick go.
As this is an older-model Warwick, it has the super-slim all wenge neck that they were using before 98 or so, and the original brass Just-A-Nut I. It's got that pleasantly compressed, low-mid growl that Warwicks are known for in spades.
The Rundown:
I got this bass used in 2005; it already had the buckle rash near the output jack (pictured) and Schaller strap pegs mounted over the recessed strap lock holes. I removed the Schallers and photographed the strap locks; since the previous owner didn't fill the holes, the recessed locks are still fully functional, as are the Schallers, if you want to use exterior locks or a regular strap.
Apart from that, it has the usual little scuffs and signs of wear associated with a 12 year old instrument. It's got a straight neck, and the trussrod is totally fine, though I honestly haven't felt the need to adjust the neck in the past six months or so since it hasn't moved at all.
The bass originally had passive MECs; I installed an EMG Active J / BTC Preamp set and am currently running it at 18V. However, I never got around to installing a proper battery clip, partly because of laziness and partly because the batteries don't move around when the electronics compartment is closed. However, I would be more than happy, if you're interested in the bass, to get it converted to 9V and have a battery clip installed to eliminate that cause of concern.
The bass will ship in a hardshell case to the continental US with the original Warwick Rockbag included.
