Well, I'm considering something different. I got this bass a few month back, and it feels great playing it. Took me a while to get used to the 19mm spacing, but I adjusted pretty quickly. Why am I thinking of selling? Well, I've been playing my 6er alot recently, and honestly this bass doesn't do anything my other basses don't do. My Alembic has more sentimental value, so this one is the potential "odd bass out". It is definitely not perfect, with a few minor scratches and blemishes here and there... mostly on the edges and back. It has brand new Elixir strings on it, and could use a setup job. It plays well, but there are a couple of slight buzzes in the upper register. Most likely a truss rod adjustment would take care of it. It's a beautiful bubinga and quilted maple combo... with an amazing neck. There was a small crack in the back of the neck, and one of the previous owners had it repaired despite being assured it would not affect the stability of the bass. It's at the VERY top, and you can only barely feel it when you are at the first fret position. I will provide detailed pics of the crack as soon as I dig out my better camera. It also has one knob that is slightly larger than the others, but a replacement is only like $15 from Pedulla. It has the thunderguts switch, and is the newer preamp. Active Bart soapbars. It will come in a nice padded gigbag.
For trades, I'm really not sure what I'm looking for. I'd be open to a different 5 or 6 string... no 4's. Fretless? Perhaps, depending on what it is. Would have to be lined. I'd love a Roscoe, but I know I'd have to add some cash. May be able to depending... I'd also be interested in different cabinets and heads, potentially. Schroeder, Epifani, berg, accu-groove, what have you? I'm playing a 3 way 15" cab right now, and love it. For heads, my top choice is a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0. Dying to try one! I may be open to other heads as well.
Anyhow, let me know what you have. Looking to change things up a bit! Better pics will come sometime this week, but these give you a little idea. I'm not desperate to sell, just seeing what else is out there. Thanks!
