I originally put this up for sale, but decided to delete that thread and post a new one with trade options...
This is a 2004 Zon Sonus 4 string in near mint condition. It has an ash body with a premium quilted maple top, satin finished composite neck, 24 fret phenowood fretboard, and 2 Bartolini single coils run through an active 2-band EQ.
The bass sounds and plays fantastic, but I'm beginning not to like the rounded neck profile as much as I used to...I'm beginning to prefer flatter profiles. There is a very wide tonal range in this bass and it will accommodate any playing style. The bass is near mint with the exception of a small finish chip on the top of the headstock, a tiny, tiny finish dent on the back (couldn't find it at first) and some oxidation on 3 of the neck bolts (just cosmetic). It comes with it's original Zon gigbag in excellent/new condition.
I originally had my Modulus Quantum fretless 5 for sale, but after playing it more and more, I realized how much I love the neck and comfort of the body. I never really cared for 35" scale before, but it just seems to work on this bass. I would like to see if anyone has a Modulus Quantum they'd like to trade for this Zon. I really don't have a preference on the number of strings (a 4 would be great, but a 5 or 6 (long shot) would be fine too). My fretless has EMG's which I don't mind, so EMGs or Barts are fine. I would like the condition to be pretty much the same as the Zon. Also, I am only interested in Quantums, no Fleas or Jazzes please...
If someone is interested in just buying the Zon, I'd let it go for $1500 shipped in the USA.
