Price Drop!!

Ok... so I just got this a few weeks ago, and then came across a different bass I had to have. So... this one goes back on the block! This is a 1999 Skjold CS5. The wood selection is an Ash body with a Paduk top, purple heart and ash neck and a bubinga fretboard. The previous owner claims it's 18mm spacing, and 35" scale. Pete says it's 17mm spacing, and I'm thinking it feels closer to 17mm... but I have nothing to measure with. She has a great B string, with an EMG-BQ-A 3 band pre with sweepable mids to back up the EMG pickups. The bass is in pretty good shape, but certainly not showroom fresh. It has a few minor scratches and dings as you would expect from a 9 year old bass. This bass will come to you in a very nice Gator leather gig bag which is basically brand new, and will also include a padded strap with strap locks. Here's a link to the bag...

I'm looking to get $1200 shipped out of this. This is less than I paid for it! I'm somewhat open to trades, so let me know what you have. Certain cabs, heads and basses considered. I'd like to get some cash if possible, but I'm open to discussion! Here's a few photos... sorry for the quality. My crappy camera takes horrible photos when the flash isn't on, so I'll include a couple of both. Thanks for looking!

To be honest, I'm going to have to plug her in and find out. I literally have almost no playtime on this, due mostly to my insane work hours... as well as the fact that 6er's have become my axe of choice. I'll try to get that info for you tomorrow. Till then, here are a couple more shots... with flash.

I just want it known that this is one of five very early prototypes that were made in Las Vegas . It does not represent what I am doing now as far as the specs go . It is still a quality bass , Just not what I have been doing for the last almost six years .

Thanks for clarifying that Pete! I forgot to include those details when posting this thread yesterday. I'll be getting more preamp details this evening as well.

It certainly is a beautiful bass... the EMG pre does explain why it ended up not being my sound. Bump for the update and a price drop. Feel free to make offers!

Vic, I saw your Skjold over on the Skjold thread. Wow... what an amazing bass! This one is a bit more humble, but definitely a solid instrument. Come on folks... make some offers! Nothing is set in stone... :D

There's more music in the nuance than the notes.

I know! I've actually gigged with it while Josh owned it. He's a great friend. I wish I could trade you some stuff for it. I just have no real spending cash right now. I would like to have this one.

Well let me know what you have! I'm not desperate for the cash, so if you have items that I might be able to re-sell later, that would be fine... :)

Thought you traded your Pedulla for this? Sorry you weren't happy with this one though. Hope you find what you're looking for. That perfect sound can be elusive.

Indeed I did trade my Pedulla for this. Then 2 weeks later, the Cirrus 6 that I've been wanting for years came up for sale. So... pretty much the "last in, first out" rule applies here! Gotta sell something to pay off the Cirrus! If it wasn't for that, I'd be replacing the pre with an Audere and most likely keep it. It certainly is a nice bass.
