This is a good example of a Musicman Sub 5. Passive, roughly 10.5 lbs, might be as little as 10. Plays as well as any Musicman bass I have owned and might sound just as good. Only issue is a couple little paint chips on the edge of the headstock that are fairly typical on SUB basses.

These are American made and discontinued. Probably one of the best fivers in this price range available.

Alright price drop to $525 shipped, I want this gone. I will probably ebay it soon.

I have figured out what I want and this doesn't make the cut.

ive always been curious as to what is different between these and the ray or sterling

2 band vs. 3 band eq, textured finish over a poplar body, painted neck, no body contours, maybe some other stuff I missed. The ones I've picked up were very nice and I might be considering this if it weren't for that blasted 5th string.

These are seriously under-appreciated basses. I really regret selling my 4-string SUB. They sound great and play like a dream. If I hadn't just blown twice as much on a Smith Burner 5 string I'd be on this in a second.
