I've got this Lakland 55-01 up for sale:

It's about four months old and in 9.9 out of 10 condition. There's a very small ding near the bottom strap button that I filled with clear lacquer. It weighs in at 8.5 lbs - the other one I've owned was 10.5 lbs! The grain is just as spectacular in person as it is in the pics. It's a two-piece body and very well grain matched. The fretboard looks like ebony but it's a dark rosewood with nice lighter graining.

It sounds great, It's just not my sound. I should mention that the preamp is a bit hissy if you turn the treble all the way up.

Comes with a thickly padded Warwick Rockbag gig bag.

$625 shipped CONUS.

These totally smoke, even in stock form. While I favor a maple fb over rosewood, I just picked up the exact same bass and I love it. It sounds fantastic with the EQ set flat and pickups centered. I tend to run only a little bass boost and every thing is dead quiet. I would never run enough treble boost to find any hiss, YMMV.

I ask myself why I didn't get one before now.

I'm with you! Some people rail about the stock pups but I A/B'd this against a Geddy Lee Jazz and the '01 sounded very similar with the bass taken down a notch!
