**TRADED**well...I picked this up just over a week ago seeing if I can dig a 5'er but it's just not me.

here's a link to the original thread:

http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=518736&highlight=lakland

It's been sent back to the Lakland factory and has been PLEK'd and a new bone nut installed, Lindy Fralin PU's, It's got a few dings (see pics) but it plays so sweet. It also comes with 3 PG's (black, mint, & tort), no case but will be very poorly packed to insure damage. ;)

I would prefer a trade but as for cash I would like what I paid which was $750 shipped which is a great price.

As for trades? A Lakland JO4, DJ4, Glaub, or 44-02. G&L L-2000 or SB-2. Fender Am Deluxe J or P, Fender Am Standard J or P. If anything else let me know I'm open to suggestions. +/- cash as needed for a sweet deal.

for your viewing pleasure...

yes that was a joke.

It shouldn't sustain any damage unless the truck goes off a cliff.

Even then, I'm sure the packaging would be such that they'd pull one very shiny Lakland JO5 from beneath the mangled, burning rubble! All other packages among the JO5 would probably be toast though.

I got some questions from someone asking me about this, which happens at least once or twice every time I mention having owned it, so I'm going to reply here:

a dude said:
Was the J05 a nice bass when you had it? Why did you sell it? Do you know the year it was made? Is it active?
1) It was "minty" when I had it aside from the headstock ding. The person who sold it to me claimed that it happened in shipping. I don't know how the other stuff happened.

2) I sold it because someone on TB was selling a 55-02 Deluxe that I really wanted, and I try to keep it strictly at one fretted and one fretless bass.

3) I do not recall the year. I suspect that an email to Lakland with the serial number would get you info on it fairly quickly.

4) The bass had a J-Retro with Fralin pickups when I had it. That was a stock option from Lakland at the time so I assume that it came from Lakland that way. Along the way, someone took out the J-Retro, which I think was the right decision. I ran it in passive mode most of the time I had it.

The question you forgot to ask is, "You have mentioned missing this bass in probably 20 threads now. Why are you not buying it back if you liked it so much?" The only answer to that is that I don't enjoy playing 19mm/35" basses anymore. If I did, the bass wouldn't be for sale right now because I would have snapped it back up from the guy I sold it to.

Thanks for the info msquared...

To answer what year per the previous owner it's a 2004. Serial# is 0406*0*4.

3) I do not recall the year. I suspect that an email to Lakland with the serial number would get you info on it fairly quickly.
