This bass is sold!!!!

For various reasons, I am listing this bass for sale.

-Alder body
-Dalbergia negra fingerboard
-Sunburst
-Nitro finish
-Bent plate bridge
-AC single coils and AC preamp
-Nice weight

It's in good shape. Jimmy uses a thin nitro finish, so there are a few tiny dents in the bass. The finish also grabs onto the wood so you can see the grain pattern a bit. These are just minor issues, but I thought I should mention it on a bass at this price.

EDIT: One other tiny tiny issue is that the pickup screws look like they are stripping just a bit. They turn fine, but they are a bit tight. Again, no biggie, but it's an expensive bass, so I thought I'd point it out.

I would like to get $4000 shipped for the bass.

Here is a quick pic: It's the one in front...

I can take more if needed.

Bump for a beautiful bass and great TBer.

If anyone is looking for that true, vintage Fender feel and tone in a 5 string instrument, THIS would be the Alleva spec to get it. Nitro, classic bridge, old as heck Brazilian board, low radius neck for that 'old Fender feel', and a very transparent preamp that can be bypassed for amazing passive tone, or kept in the signal chain for close to passive tone with all the advantages of an active buffer.

That's a beauty, and the small issues with the Nitro are part of the deal that give it the vintage mojo.

Good luck with the sale! If I didn't have a nitro LG already, I'd jump on this one! It's a lot of money, but worth every penny if it fits your tone goal.

Hey, thanks for the words, guys. This is a fine instrument, to be sure.

Some guys have asked why I'm selling it. There are actually a few reasons, but the main thing is that my daughter is due in July. I want to put aside some money for her, just in case.

Of course, I'm not the most responsible when it comes to buying gear, but I'm trying to do right by my family.

Thanks guys!!! We are excited about our newest addition. Our son is 20 months old, and such a joy. I'm hoping that he doesn't feel jealous when his sister arrives.

The bass is a nice weight. I'm going to say 9lbsish. I don't know for sure, but I am big on light weight basses. Anything 10 lbs and over, is way too much for me. So, I would say 9 is a good guess.

First congrats Nicky!

Secondly, as an owner of the 4-string version of this bass, I can assure whoever buys bass this will not be disappointed. They are worth every penny. Buying this new will cost you about $5200+, 6-8 months, and that's even if you can get the DN board. I had one or order but while waiting switched to four's.

Bump... at that price which is about what a new base level Sadowsky NYC 5 would cost, you get the amazing Nitro finish, that amazing old true Brazilian board, that upgraded vintage bridge.

I'll tell you what guys, it's a lot of money... no doubt about that... but if you are looking for a 5 string that sounds, looks, and 'feels' like a mid 60's Vintage Fender, jump on this one now.

That's a VERY decent price for all that this bass has to offer IMO.
