I just purchased this bass on TB (http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=550590) , but as it turns out I don't need it... long story, but the bottom line is that my decision has nothing to do with this instrument: this bass is spectacular. If I could spare the cash I'd keep it just on principle!
It is exactly as described in Kyle's original post. It is in stunning condition, essentially like new except for the 2 tiny cosmetic defects shown in the original post. The original plastic + sticker is still on the pick guard. It is set up beautifully with nice, low action. The neck is straight and there are absolutely no dead spots. The tone from either or both pickups is fantastic: warm, growly and bright. Classic Fender Jazz tone.
This bass was manufactured in (?late?) 2007 and was released in 2008.
I'm selling for a bit less than what I paid for it just last week: $925 shipped within the continental USA, $875 cash for a local transaction (suburban Boston Needham/Newton/Wellesley/Dedham/Dover area). Good luck finding another essentially new MIA Fender Jazz for under a grand...
