Hi, I have a Conklin Sidewinder 7-String bass guitar for sale. I bought it used on a whim around 6 months ago, and just haven't had the need for it to be honest. Needless to say, it is a stunning looking and sounding bass for someone wanting something just a little bit different!
It has:
I'm not ENTIRELY sure of the woods, though I can try to find out. I believe the front woods are figured Maple and Cherry, with a Purpleheart spacer, and the neck Purpleheart and Maple, with a Purpleheart fretboard. I am informed that the body wood is also Cherry. it weighs around 13 lbs.
This bass puts out a massive sound, and the volume knob features a push/pull knob which activates what I can only describe as a low end volume boost. Would be very well suited to a jazz setting, though I have only used it briefly in a rock band. The satin finish neck plays very nicely indeed, and well... it is a USA made Conklin - what do you expect from it?

There are a couple of minor dings to the headstock, but that's expected for something of this age. Otherwise, it is in excellent condition.
I'll chuck in the Conklin semi-hard case, a leather Levy's strap with straplocks and also the issue of Bassist magazine that it was reviewed in (not just the same model - this very bass) from 11 years ago if I can find it! It received a 90% rating in the review.
I'm looking for £1200 for this bass. I'm located in Sheffield, England if anybody wants to try it out/collect.
Any further questions, email me at chris6mm at aol dot com
If you want this posting, then it will obviously cost a little more! Willing to ship worldwide if I have to, at the buyer's cost. Collection is also fine.
Best regards,
Chris
