A rare early 4x12 bass cab made by the German Tech Soundsystems (now TecAmp). Has 2 forward-firing 12s and 2 side-firing 12s, just like the popular Schroeder designs, as well as a nice 3.5-4" mid driver. I have heard (but don't know for a fact) that these cabs were Jorg Schroeders inspiration for his later side-firing speaker cabs. Regardless, this is a killer cabinet, I just have to relinquish it like so much else to feed my Walkabout Scout fund!

This cab sounds fantastic, with a nice full tone and a cutting midrange (much like the Schroeder cabs I've tried). I've kept this cabinet longer than I've ever had any other cabinet, as it sounds great, packs a punch (even in a loud metal band!), and fits in fairly compact areas. The cab is smaller than most 4x10s, and super loud- I don't know if its drivers are just very efficient or its the cabinet design (or a combination), but this guy could compete with my NV610 in a volume battle! It was made before the whole Neo craze, so its not exceptionally light- but its an easy loader due to its size and casters. One great aspect of this cabinet design is that it can be set in different configurations depending on your needs- set it with the side-firing speakers facing up for awesome monitoring on loud stages, or with the side speakers facing down for super deep, dubby lows... I've used this on several gigs with my Mesa D-180 (now gone, as of today
) and previously my 400+ (also gone 
), and it has always proved to be a surprisingly great match with an all-tube amp with the tweeter turned off. I actually preferred the way this cabinet seemed to accentuate the bloom of the saturated tubes of the D-180 more than the NV610. My Carbine through this cab, on the other hand, took on a much more modern punchy snap. This wasn't much to my liking, but is admittedly probably exactly what the Carbine was intended for!
The only issues with the cab are cosmetic- a fair amount of pulling on the "rat hair", some paint flaked from the removeable speaker grill on the front (and some rust in those spots), and a fair amount of scratching on the rear crossover panel...doesn't look pretty, hence the low price (I paid significantly more for it in similar condition).
