Up for sale is a crazy Frankenstein p-bass I just put together. I really like this bass. It's punchy and beefy. The neck is a 2007 Fender Highway 1 precision neck, the one with the dual graphite rods in the neck. When I got this neck someone attempted to amber the neck with shoe polish
and it looked awful. I used steel wool to get almost all of it off. There is still some small patches of discoloration on the headstock that you can see in the pictures. Most of them are on the edge of the headstock and will come right off with some steel wool or sandpaper. There is still a bit left on the heel of the neck but you can't see it for the most part. Frets have plenty of life in them with no wear at all. Neck is straight and the truss rod works fine.
The body is custom made by someone named KR Glenn. The previous owner told me that the body is made of ash, wenge, and padouk. Apparently he's a woodworker and a darn good one at that. The body is a bit heavy even though I took it down to ABQ Guitarworks and had them route under the pickguard to relieve some of the weight. On my bathroom scale she comes in at 9.5 lbs. The routing was professionally done and looks good; no chiseling or any such nonsense. There is quite a bit of lacquer wear and various dings on the body which you can see in the pictures. I feel that the pictures give a good representation of the the color of the body
The pickup is a DiMarzio Model P. I think it's a newer one because it had quite a bit of wiring. I do believe that it's wired up in parallel. Strings are a dead but good sounding set of D'Addario .45-.100. The wiring harness is brand new. Allparts 250K pots, Switchcraft jack, orange .047 cap, and cloth wiring. I put it together so please forgive my semi-sloppy soldering! Knobs and bridge are Allparts. The jack plate is awful looking but it works. Meant to get a nicer one but never got around to it. There is no case or gigbag with this instrument.
