This is the Aria Pro II Avante 6-string bass. It's a fretted version of Steve Bailey's sig. Specs can be found here: http://www.bgra.net/2004/review.php?id=1173&type=bass
Some Specs:
I bought this bass a year or two ago used from SamAsh, but I've never really gotten into it like I have my other 6-strings, probably due to the 34" scale.. It's currently set up with some Ernie Ball Slinkies in typical B-C tuning.
It's in great shape, but for the sake of disclosure, there are two things that need to be brought up. Firstly, the pots are a bit noisy, likely a sheilding issue or a cold solder joint. Hasn't been too much of a problem for me, and it doesn't affect the playability of the bass, but it can get a bit annoying.
Secondly, I modified the bridge when I had it set up F#-G, so the hole for the B-string has been drilled out to fit a .165 F# string. It doesn't affect playability, and I haven't encountered a problem with strings slipping through, but nonetheless, it has been modified.
I've also taken some sand paper to the frets/fretboard to round them up as they were a bit sharp past the 12th fret to begin with. They are smoother and comfortable now.
I haven't found any other cosmetic flaws, but I will give the bass another run over tonight to find any pontential problems.
The Blue Book of Guitars says that this thing should sell for $600 in its current condition, but given the minor mods, the noisy pots, and for the sake of a quick sale, I'll let it go for $425 Shipped CONUS w/ a nice padded gig bag. I'll ship internationally as well, but customer pays those international/customs charges.
I'm really not looking for trades at this point in time, but it never hurts to offer.
Thanks!
-Joe
