***PRICE DROP 8/4/09***

Well, I've owned this bass for about a day now... time to move it! :eyebrow:

But seriously, folks - I traded away my Hofner for this bass last week knowing this would cause a warp in the space-time continuum as I already own a Fender Highway 1 P-Bass as well. One of them would have to be moved...

THEN I found a beautiful Music Man Stingray 4 that I just *HAD* to buy and the issue of 2 P-Basses became a pressing one... sell the Highway 1? Or sell the 59 Relic?... Decisions, decisions...

Short story long - the 59 P-Bass relic is now for sale $1900 shipped and insured UPS to USA only.
The Highway One is also up for sale here: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=566307 - Once one sells I'll most likely keep the other one...

All trade offers will also be considered - looking more for 5-strings in Fender bass style - Fender, Lakland, Sadowsky, Music Man, G&L, Atelier Z, etc...

It's a fine, awesome bass and I hate to get rid of it, but... gotta pay for the Stingray somehow...

New-Old-Stock, its one of three different grades in their Time Machine Series. There is the NOS which looks pretty much new, the Closet Classic which has a couple of dings here and there, and then there are the Relics which look beat to ****.

Yours looks like a NOS one.

I'd have to go NOS then because it looks like a brand new bass :)

Well, right now I weigh 163.6 but I just had some pasta and it's really better to weigh yourself first thing in the morning... usually I'm under 160 you know, but... HEY!... You mean the bass?

Well, together we weigh 173 which means on my digital bathroom scale the bass weighs 9.4 pounds.

:p

Additional pics attached showing couple small dings in finish where the neck meets the body...

Might also consider an amp in trade - Ampeg SVT Classic head or Walter Woods Electracoustic Ultra?...

But if you wanna take a shot, take a shot... you never know! :)

Had a deal all worked out and... well, you just never know do you? Unfortunately it looks like that deal is falling apart...

SO - still available.

Trades of interest would start with an SVT Classic head... also Walter Woods Electracoustic Ultra would be of interest...

Basses - 5-strings in Fender bass style - Fender, Lakland, Sadowsky, Music Man, G&L, Atelier Z, etc...

Cash either way on a deal would be fine if we can work out the particulars. I'd *REALLY* like to get another SVT head, though - ONLY interested in the 300w tube heads...

Hey Monte Hall! Let's Make a Deal! :P

Sorry, NO COA... I don't know the year, either - guess I never asked. It came from J Gary here at TalkBass, I'll see if he knows and post if he does... is there any way to find out by looking at the bass at all?

:)

The guy Gary got it from said 2001 was the year. I owned an actual 59 P-Bass for many years, the neck on this thing feels a lot like the real deal. Sounds and plays how I remember the actual 59 :)

Oh, and I did find out for sure it's NOS...
