You know what's really special about these 5-string Schecters are the 17MM string spacing.

Most 5-strings have 19MM spacing and when you add 2MM between each string you have a really notable difference in the fretboard width. I used to think that I needed a 19MM fearing that my slap technique would come off sloppy on a 17MM.

Then I tried out my brother's 17MM bass. Boy was I wrong. I didn't need the extra width afterall, and I was that much faster playing a 17MM as well.

It's less common to see a 17MM and in my opinion, closer is better. Bump for a nice 5-string bass. :hyper:

Jazz.

SELLING A BLACK SCHECTER 004 (a/k/a "Schecterboker") BASS...http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=560144&highlight=

Thanks brother..
But actually this neck is different. I have a Stiletto 5 string and the spacing is at 17mm.. I love it. This one is at 19mm. Much more room. This is part of the reason I am not comfortable with it. I know a lot of 5 string players love that extra space.. So if you've played another Schecter 5 and wanted more room.. this is the bass for you.

Some mroe info.. in case you were wondering.
The neck is nice. A little extra spacing compared to the stiletto 5 string. Kinda roomy. The action it low to medium. Really comfortable. No fret buzz at all.

Great tone. Lots of versatility with this pup config. With the split coil , it really branched out to a nice double j sound.. or the MM humbucker with a nice Ric style growl to it. It has an active eq with treble and bass boost. Aslo a blend knob.

35" or 34" scale? Lacquer or satin neck? How heavy?

Sorry for taking so long...

It is a 35" scale and has a satin finish on the neck. Quite fast actually.

It doesn't have an arm contour.. as in like a strat for your forearm (I'm guessing). It is a flat top minus the contour for the upper frets. It does have binding on the body and neck.

Keep em' coming? Anything else? :p
