Here we are ....I REALLY don't want to do this but I need to take care of some business.....

1976 jetglo(black) 4001.....one of the THINNEST necks I have ever had....(I have had 90 ricks)....everything stock...I have newer Rickenbacker tuners that are what you find on the new ones on it...The new rickenbacker strap buttons are also there....the action is UBER low and this is one of the fastest and smoothest I have played...it comes with a flight case that is form fit inside.
Make no bones, this is not your run of the mill 4001, it is more of a player but it will not disappoint you for that Ric tone!!!!

the case is not the one that comes with it. I will try to take some more pics of it for those who are interested. i am not planning on leaving it up here long so there you have it :bawl:

I have the exact bass...76 JG 4001, and the neck is so wonderful.
Mine's totally stock, but it's great, so I'm sure yours is too.

Looks like you put vintage knobs on it?

Next to the 76, the 4003 feels SO thick.

Whoops! yep put vintage knobs in it...did not have the originals when i got it...thanks for pointing that one out! :D

All joking aside, wish I had the scratch for this one. Jaymi's a super guy to deal and I know whoever gets this one will not be disappointed. Jaymi really knows his Rics and how to get them playing like butta! And he can play a little bit too. He's aiight and doesn't totally suck. :hiding::hiding: He's actually one of the funkiest, slapping-est guys I know. Boy can throw down some stank funk. :bassist:

Wow - I played a Ric for the first time last night and I'm kinda obsessed. Now this shows up. I wonder if I have 1400 in change laying around the house? Gotta get countin'.

I actually did have an emotional moment upon seeing this thread. You se, I used to have a severe problem with alcohol. Many years ago, my father bought me a Burgundy(?) '76 Ric...which I sold to a pawn shop for $40 during a weekend bender for drinking money.

My biggest regret. I'm clean 16 years now and only wish I had the scratch for this one...for obvious reasons. :(

There's a good bit left...I never have issues with it..never had to touch the neck either...

Holy Crap!

Why oh why oh why?!?!?!? I would grab that bass and kick my wife out of the bed and sleep with the bass, if I only had the cash right now!

Someone will jump on it, if not they are all stupid and possibly were gassed in the war! I want a new Ricky, but that bass is like the UBER dream bass!
