I re-opened this thread, because I have decided that other projects need this money, more than I need to keep these. Prices are dropped too! The one with the truss rod cover is sold. The newer allen wrench style truss rod types are left. ONLY THE ONE WITH THE BARTS AND SCHALLER BRIDGE IS LEFT!!!!!
During the last two years of US production, in the 1990's, Peavey offered the Fury basses with a special order, painted neck option. I love a painted neck, and all of my basses are that way. To me, they just feel slipperier, and easier for my hand to slide on the neck. Anyway, I have only seen 4 of these painted ones in my lifetime, 3 of them are mine. I also have never seen another color. Black may be the only way they came. These Furys have a slimmer neck than a jazz bass, and are a super fast neck. One of mine has what must have been one of the last of the necks with a truss rod cover and the hex nut trussrod. The other two are the newer style with the Allen wrench design. Two of these are stock, one of them has been up-graded to a Schaller Roller Bridge, and a set of 8S Bartolini pickups. They all are set up with a low action, and they all play just great. I've played earlier ones, and they just don't seem as good as these ones from the end of the US made ones. It seems just as the guitar shop finally had them done perfectly, production ended. Sad.
