Listing this again. Not sure why this has received so little interest in the past. But I haven't been playing bass & it makes sense to move this out of here:

Ken Smith Custom BSR `B' (Burner) 4-string (maple body)

For Sale - $900 shipped CONUS Great condition and comes with Ken Smith hard case and a strap. This bass is super easy to play, even for a clumsy fingerstyle guitarist like myself.

It's a very nice instrument. Blue Book values say it's comparable to MM and Fender USA's in terms of value.

I'll consider reasonable offers of cash or a lesser bass (like maybe a Carvin B4 or HWY 1) + cash. I also play guitar, mandolin, and mandola. I have always had GAS for a Carvin guitar. Any of those instruments might be interesting in a trade as well. Try me.

I can't ship international. CONUS only.

Thanks for looking!
Chuck

what's the weight?
What's the fingerboard wood.
How close to a jazz bass does it sound?

what's the weight?

I don't know. I don't have a scale. I could see if I can weigh it on the baby scale at my wife's clinic.

What's the fingerboard wood.

Smith website says rosewood. I actaully thought it was pao ferro. This might be worth a question on the Smith forum... If it's rosewood it's a very light color rosewood. Either way, it feels like rosewood to me. (I have a rosewood board on several guitars.)

OK. You asked the wrong guy. I'm a guitarist. Best I can say is you have active and passive options and it seems to me you can pull a very wide range of tones out of this.

I'm not going to get a job as a Smith salesman anytime soon! LOL!

Nope. I've had it listed now three times. I took it down both other times because there was little interest. Had a couple of almost sales and a couple almost trades. Almost.

It's still here. I'm not playing it much, and I'm still looking to either trade or sell it.
