I bought this because I love the way it looks. But the output is just too hot for me. I'm so used to passive basses that it's hard for me to go back in forth during practice or a show.
I will post pics as soon as I can find my camera cord.
It is in mint condition. The only thing I did was take the plastic off the pickguard. I also have different strings on the bass in the pics I took, but will replace them with the originals. I also have the original box the bass came in.

Three ways to remedy that: 1) use passive mode; 2) use parallel mode (series boosts output); 3)work those rollers - the two rollers on the upper bout are "boost only" and this is hard to get one's head around since passive pots are cut only (think of those on a passive jazz bass, for example). Roll them toward the bridge on the Jag and you are flat. Roll towards the neck and you are boosting the treble and bass.
There's probably 18dB of boost on those, so full on is WAY too much output. Judicious use of the boost is key with this bass.

IIRC, this is moot in passive mode on the Jag because it deactivates these controls.

Agreed. Just use the passive mode and the bass is no longer too hot. Though personally I always use "hot" mode on mine with the bass and treble rollers all the way up as I think that provides the best tone. Once I did play a set in passive mode just to test it, adjusted my amp a little differently and was quite pleased with that too.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'm just not crazy about the tone. I love the look and feel of the bass, and thought about just putting some good Jazz pickups in it and keeping it passive. But I should really just pass this along while it is still mint.
