I got this bass from my drummer. It was filthy and unplayable. I completely disassembled it, cleaned it all, waxed/buffed the paint, oiled the fretboard, and gave it a complete set-up. I've had it a lil while now.
Great beginner/novice bass. All in all, not a bad guitar. Nice tone.
I decided to give it away to someone who might need it when I first saw the MTD for free. Cool idea.
I just obtained a really sweet bass, but the preamp is noisy and I can't find the reason. I didn't notice til I cranked it up at rehearsal last night. Wife says sell the SR200 to fix the new one..... Too late. My decision's made.
EDIT: I found and fixed my preamp on the SR655PB. Loose treble pot, barely touching the side of the control cavity.
Email preferred, PM's ok also. Tell me why you would like to have it. I have no money for shipping. Been a really bad year. Working in 3 bands trying to make it. (Struggling musician, you know the deal.)

So there ya go. Hope someone has a son, daughter, nephew, ect... that they have no gift for and can use this.

VERY good condition. 3-4 small bumps on the body, hardly noticeable. 2 small headstock nicks.

I will announce the winner on X-mas morning.
Thank you.
Hawk

I know it's not a really expensive bass folks. But it's a perfect gift for the novice bassist in your life.
Most of you don't know me, that's fine. I bought 2 basses from Nino V. years ago. He might remember them, before he made his own headstock. One was a Walnut Stained J-Bass he made from parts, with Sadowsky stuff. I actually have a pic of Me and that bass playing a gig with Eddie Money, lots of fun. The other was his Red Ash/Maple jazz. That thing was sweet also. I don't remember any feedback stuff back then.

I don't have a need for a bass like that, nor do I know anyone that does. I just want to say that you are a noble dude! Thanks for rocking Talkbass! I hope this bass goes to someone who really deserves it.

Me, you, and Armbruster are like Santas elves this year! :D

This is so cool that there are more of us out there lucky enough to do things like this!

Hello Hawk. I copy and pasted this from another donation thread I posted in, but the need is still the same.

I would be happy to do any repairs/refinish the bass for donation. I've been getting used guitars/basses, do the needed repairs and donating them to musically inclined kids in my area that can't afford them. So far they have mostly gone to kids that are wanting to learn to play an instrument in the local church's praise teams, but is not a requirement. Thanks for your consideration and God Bless Ya.

Man, I'm not getting many PM's on this. Only 3 so far. I dunno if I'm surprised or not. One good PM about getting laid off and selling everything to survive, THAT I can relate to. I think the only thing I didn't sell these past two years IS my gear. It makes me money, so I need it.
Thanks everyone.

Thanks Matt, Lon & Jeremy and the others for your submissions. I feel your pain Jeremy, I'm in the same boat, different cabin, and we're sinking still... Hold your head up, It'll hopefully get better.
Although I wanted to give it to a TB'er, I've also been talking to one of the staff at the Florida School for the Blind in St Augustine. Those kids are challenged, man. That'll be the Ibby's new home. I'll be driving there on Jan 4th.

I sure hope we ALL have a better year than 08 and 09.

Thanks everyone.

After a quick visit yesterday to the school, (closed, but for staff), they look pretty well funded. Actually very well funded.
The bass is going to Jeremy in TN. PM sent.
This is the better choice.
Thanks all, have a great New Year.
