For sale Project Part Out (G&L Aguilar Hipshot)

Nice Bass...someone should just add up the total parts and have you ship it complete!!!!! Shame to take that apart. I am in the process of getting rid of basses or I would jump on it.

I really like it, but it just won't intonate due to the scale differences. Really sucks actually.

How many holes in that bridge mount?

I ran into a similar problem with a project, quite awhile
ago. I bought a NOS body from a Fender HMT bass on
ebay and assembled it with a neck from a '51 RI. Looked
and felt great, but would not intonate. It was driving me
knuts, so I broke down and asked a professional. Turns
out I was using a 20-fret neck on a body that was designed
for 22 frets! Both are of course 34" scale necks, but it had
more to do with the length of the neck pocket and the
mounting placement of the bridge.....mostly the bridge. The
HMT having a fixed bridge, remounting the bridge was not
an option. I could have shimmed the neck pocket (ie built
a 1/2" spacer to push the neck farther forward). But now the
mounting holes would have to be redrilled, etc.

The simple fix was that I used another neck, from a 22-fret
model. There are plenty of used necks on ebay and it just
required some patience. I snagged a neck from a "Cowpoke"
P and....viola! Bolted right up, intonates perfectly, and even after
5 years is still my main squeeze.

Just offering a different opinion, based on my experience. Perhaps
a different neck would solve your problem and allow you to have
your project fulfilled? BTW, once I learned all this, I can easily
spot a 22-fret neck on ebay....it'll be the one with 4 dots after the
12th fret instead of 3 (duh me!

I'll take the pups

And I'll be doing some careful measuring on my G&L L1K body where I was going to cut the pocket for a walnut Lollar neck I have. I don't want to end up a 1/2" short either. These pups are going into a Hamer CH12.

I may have beaten you out on the pickups. I sent him a PM offering to take them about 2 hours ago. Still haven't heard back though. Sorry about that!

There is alot of interest in the pups, and sorry for the delay in responding. I have a pending deal for the whole thing. I tried to remove the bridge, and it's stuck into the nitro. If possible at this point, it needs to stay as one.

And I actually got a PM about 1 this morning for the pickups, and I apologize to that sender as well.

Could the body still take a G&L neck afte you mods? What wood is it ash or alder?

Sorry Jim, but I doubt it. I routed it using the Stew Mac template for a bass. I think the body is from a Tribby, but I'm not 100%

At this point folks, I'm afraid I would do more harm than good by trying to part it out. I have had some interest in the entire body in the $350 range, and at this point that's where I'm headed. Nothing is set in stone, so if you would be interested in the package, please let me know.

If nothing else, I will still sell the neck and tuners if there is any interest. As Spike pointed out, it should work wonderfully with a different neck. Thank you Spike for your input.
